Reporting to the VP, Global Advertising & Brand Communications – The Director, Creative and Brand Service is responsible for the overall look and feel of the Lenovo brand in all internal and external facing communications.  This is not a traditional Creative Director job more of a brand services.

The Director will Align customer experience.  Align brand, this is a marketing role and they want someone who has done this for a major brand.  ALIGN EVERY CUSTOMER TOUCHPOINT.

Specific job responsibilities include:

•             Developing, evangelizing and policing an iconic and global look and feel for the company brand as well as key product brands in all media from the web to packaging, from videos to POP merchandising

•             Directing the creative function so that the environment, culture, team, capabilities, tools, processes, expectations, work style and other elements support the strategic goals and the company brand.

•             Developing standards for all company brand communications, and training company marketers worldwide on how to implement those standards.

•             Developing standards for packaging and retail design for use worldwide.

•             Working with the product design teams to make sure that brand standards and product design are consistent and compelling.

•             Working with our partner advertising agency of record to insure consistent between marketing campaigns and brand design.

•             Developing an approved list of vendors trained in brand standards, and monitoring their quality.

•             Ensuring that our creative product remains leading edge and ahead of our competition

•             Collaborating and contributing to the creative process as a leader of a creative team and a member of the larger  brand communications team

•             Ensuring the professional development and readiness of the creative team

•             Managing the evolution of company’s digital marketing capabilities from a creative perspective.

Study the creative marketplace, assessing where company work stands against competitors’, as well as our competitors’ creative work.

•             Set expectations and standards (build a culture) for creative team attitude, behavior, teamwork and professional development. Lead accordingly.

REQUIRMENTS:

•             The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of design experience, managing brands in a global setting.

•             Experience in high technology is a plus but is not required.

•             A degree in design from a major design institute is preferred, but not required.

•             Employment experience on both the client side and in a design agency is required

•             Foreign experience is a requirement – either working abroad, or working on design for a global brand. China experience especially desired.

UI Designer | Interface Designer

MarketPro is hiring UI Graphic Designers for a long term contract in Atlanta. They will be responsible for helping define the visual interface design (the look-and-feel) for our clients interactive products (i.e., site, mobile, tablets, desktop).

  1. These Designers will be working closely with a cross-functional team to assess product requirements, the designer will create screen designs based on UI models that will be translated into user-interface interaction documentation that promote ease of use and a positive user experience
  2. The ideal candidates will have a strong sense for visual design, interaction design, usability, typography, and color. They must have a passion for user-centered design.
  3. Their portfolio must demonstrate a depth of experience with emphasis on user-interface design for web applications or complex data-driven web sites, mobile experience a plus.
  1. They will assist in development of a user interface design style guide that incorporates the visual design elements used across product user interfaces, help develop a visual design library for common user interface elements (buttons, icons, etc.) and conceive, document, and evangelize user interface guidelines and standards company wide.
  2. This individual must also be able to translate their designs into functional prototypes for user testing as well as into high quality HTML/CSS that can make it to a production environment.
  3. Flash (AS 3.0) may also be called upon for prototypes and product promotion pieces.
  4. The candidate must have the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment, display good communication skills, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

B.  SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Grow the brand by supporting corporate, network, and interactive product alignment through design.
  2. Work with internal customers to understand their design needs and timelines. Set realistic expectations about what can be delivered and when and then follow through.
  3. Collaborate with Product teams to design and develop quality products that are:  brand right, user-focused, easy to use, accountable to business objectives, and delivered on time.
  4. Work closely with usability (as applicable) to better understand the user, test the usability of features and conceptual designs, and refine designs to improve the user experience.
  5. Work with Development to appropriately divide HTML work taking on what supports higher quality products (more consistent) with less rework.
  6. Must be able to accurately and efficiently spec and cut assets for product production.
  7. Collaborate within the Design team to develop style standards for Interactive channels and consistently apply them with each project. Actively present style recommendations and contribute written guidelines and specs to a Style Guide.
  8. Should encourage and support production tests of design elements to optimize site performance and achieve business goals.
  9. Is called up on to create promotional ad banners of internal products (e.g., tv network shows, new phone release).
  10. Must be able to quickly turn a high-level design concept in support of an advertising sales pitch.
  11. Supports the unity and growth of the team by providing creative ideas and constructive feedback to other designers.

 

C.  QUALIFICATIONS

1.  KNOWLEDGE

1.    Must understand design constraints such as browser capabilities, media types, platform differences, and operating systems.

2.    Should apply SEO and Section 508 best practices.

3.    A strict attention to detail and an ability to manage a diverse and sometimes intense workload is crucial.

4.    Ability to work in a fast-paced corporate environment on projects with tight turnaround times.

5.    Ability to juggle multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

6.    Ability to work well individually and as a team player.

7.    Well-organized both for project management as well as supporting team efficiency with activities such as file/asset library management.

2.  SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

1.    Four year degree (or comparable work experience) in design, marketing, communications, or related field.

2.    4-6 years of successful design experience.

3.    3-5 years solid web design and other interactive channel experience. Must have some mobile.

4.    Excellent graphic design skills coupled with the ability to conceptualize and design dynamic content and user interfaces as well as compelling static content layouts.

5.    Mastery of Photoshop and Illustrator is required.

6.    Proficiency working on Macintosh Platform is essential. Some Windows experience is required.

7.    Must have direct final art preparation and production experience.

8.    Demonstrate solid ability to deliver CSS, HTML, XHTML and Flash (AS 3.0) required with JavaScript a plus.

9.    Has experience working with Personas. Is an evangelist in designing for customer needs.

10.  Knowledge and experience developing cohesive brand experiences. Has experience working with and maintaining a Style Guide.

11.  Experience with site mapping, interaction flows/maps, wireframing, and usability testing preferred.

12.  Experience with focus group research and usability testing desired.
